Like a honeycomb

I have said so many hurtful things in my life, and I have been hurt by words. Words hold power. Encouragement holds power. Encouragement can take many different forms; it doesn’t have to be words, and the impact of one thing might hit harder for some more than others. I have also been built up by words of others and of God. I’ve been in desperation and despair. I have felt ardently alone and fearful, and I realize that is a terrible place to be. In my different mental health and relationship struggles, I have come to realize the importance of encouragement. I have also realized that in some of the darkest parts of my life, I have been blessed with encouragement in various forms: God’s grace in the midst of struggles. Don’t get me wrong. It didn’t always feel like there was encouragement. But when there was, I realized that that was a gift, and I need to share.
Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body. ~Proverbs 16:24
